Litá foi formado durante o início da guerra da Ucrânia tendo-se estabelecido na cidade de Lisboa, Portugal. Os membros do grupo, Ivanna Korzh, Kateryna Sidelnykova, Sofia Tsyvinska e Danylo Klutsko, unem as suas forças para popularizar as canções tradicionais ucranianas, a música, as danças e a arte dos instrumentos tradicionais.
O nome do grupo, Litá, possui vários significados. Em primeiro lugar, faz referência ao Verão, já que a formação do grupo ocorreu durante essa estação do ano. Além disso, pode ser interpretado como “voo”, representando o voo da voz e da alma. Por fim, o nome também remete à palavra “anos”, que embora seja considerada antiquada na Ucrânia, possui um propósito importante para o grupo: resgatar e relembrar o património esquecido.

The Litá group was formed during the outbreak of war in Ukraine and settled in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The members of the group, Ivanna Korzh, Kateryna Sidelnykova, Sofia Tsyvinska and Danylo Klutsko, join forces to popularise Ukrainian traditional songs, music, dances, and the art of traditional instruments.
The group’s name, Litá, has several meanings, including summer, which is when the formation of the group took place. It can also be interpreted as “flight”, representing the flight of the voice and of the soul. Finally, the name also refers to the word “years”, which although it is considered old-fashioned in Ukraine, has an important purpose for the group: to rescue and remember forgotten heritage.
